There is something pretty refreshing about witnessing new life...
I spent this Easter holiday on a farm down in Devon. I'm a city girl at heart but escaping for a week was just lovely. I drank tea from teapots next to the open fire, I walked the dogs in the mornings and I adorned myself in comfy jumpers and wellies. Helping the farmer to heard the lambs and their new mothers into the barn for the cold night, we moved the heard from one field to the next and as we did so we saw a ewe sitting down and bleeting. She gave birth to a lovely little lamb right there infront of us, something that to the farmer was just standard practice but to me was rather beautiful. The lamb stood up and walked after its mother in a matter of minutes. It was so simple, so natural and completely lovely. For everyone who wants to escape...sometimes you don't need to leave the country, you don't need sun and some swanky hotel with a pool. Just go back to basics...back to nature!
